Description
The LG OLED88Z29LA 8K TV demonstrates the future of TV, today.
The cinema – at home
Featuring a mighty 88 inch screen, the LG OLED88Z29LA makes the ideal TV for the heart of a reference home cinema system. As big as many projector screens, this 88 inch LG OLED TV strikes the ideal balance between all-action entertainment when you want and discreet, everyday TV when you don’t.
OLED plus 8K equals masterful picture quality
With four times the resolution of UHD 4K, 8K resolution takes picture detail and realism to the next level. Where previously there was a lack of definition, every blade of grass, true facial complexion and landscape texture snap into focus. What better way to illuminate this amazing resolution than with over 100 million self-lit OLED pixels. Only OLED gives you this incredible level of brightness and colour control, on this stunning LG 88 inch TV.
Alpha 9 Gen 5 processing for improved sound and vision
Now in its fifth generation, LG’s mighty Alpha 9 processor optimises sound and vision for spectacular results. Using AI technology, the picture and sound are optimised to best suit the genre – be it movies, sport, gaming or regular TV. With enhancements to picture tone-mapping, background enhancement and upscaling, picture processing is more advanced than ever. Virtual sound channel up-mixing increases from 5.1.2 to 7.1.2, giving an even more enveloping sound.
Stunning Gallery design, supplied with floorstand
Despite its mighty screen, the LG OLED88Z29LA is not a room space invader. The sleek design blends into your space and, thanks to the integral stand, needs no extra support. At around 28cm deep (less than a foot) on its stand, it protrudes very little into your room – especially compared to placing the TV on a cabinet or table.
Signature details
As one of LG’s exclusive, Signature models, the OLED88Z29LA features premium details. These include a premium remote control and elegant, metal feet for surface mounting.
AI Picture /Sound Pro for professional sound and vision
Using a huge database of over one million visual date points, AI Picture Pro uses deep-learning algorithms to recognise content, remove noise and optimise the picture. AI Sound Pro leans from more than 17 million audio data points, identifying voices, effects and frequencies. From here, it optimises the sound by genre, giving a more natural sound quality.
Ultimate detail - Dolby Vision IQ
For ultimate detail, in all environments, this LG OLED features Dolby Vision IQ. Dolby Vision IQ version uses data within the signal and light sensors inside the TV to adjust the picture quality for the best contrast. This improves the picture’s brightness, without ‘washing out’ the depth. You get a consistent picture quality, however light or dark your room is. Whether you’re watching a brightly lit sports event or moody movie, Dolby Vision IQ adjusts to suit.

See the picture exactly as originally intended, with Filmmaker Mode
If you’re mad about movies, you’ll love Filmmaker Mode. Designed in collaboration with filmmakers and Hollywood studios, Filmmaker Mode lets you experience the cinematic vision, exactly as the director intended. Overriding the TV’s own motion and picture processing, Filmmaker Mode presents the correct aspect ratio, colour and frame rate – just as the filmmakers intended.
Made for gaming – with Game Optimiser and more
The improved Game Optimiser utilises an enhanced gaming menu, giving you quick access to important settings. There are now five game genre presets, including a new one for sports games. Equipped with 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 sockets, this LG TV is designed to get the very best from today’s, and future, games consoles. ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) mean that your TV automatically adjusts to the optimised settings for gaming – giving you a smoother and faster response.
Upgrade audio for this mighty TV
Featuring a built-in, 4.2 speaker system, the OLED88Z29LA offers a powerful, immersive sound. The uprated, 80 watt amplifier delivers punchy, room-filling sound. Using AI algorithms, AI Sound Pro up-mixes two-channel audio to virtual 7.1.2 sound – giving a much more immersive sound and enhanced dialogue. With a Dolby Atmos processor built-in this LG 88” TV decodes Atmos sound tracks - giving you the potential for an even more enveloping sound.
